Question: "Where did you get the name 'Sandringham'?"
Christopher: "As most of
my friends know, I love castles. So while trying to come up with a name
for my new horse sales and training operation, I thought that it would be only fitting to name it after one of
my favorite young sale horses that I trained a few years ago, "Sandringham",
which we named after one of the castles where Queen Elizabeth rides.

A lot of time at Sandringham is spent at
the Sandringham Stud, the stable for the Queen's race horses.
The Queen's incessant interest in
horses is well documented and was nurtured from an early age. Riding horses has
always been a way of life for the entire Royal family, especially the Queen. On
her third birthday, her father, King George VI, bought Princess Elizabeth a
Shetland pony named Peggy, and the bond between her and her horses has endured
to this day. Her Majesty is still heavily involved in rearing, raising,
and naming her horses.
This is the horse, "Sandringham", one of our sale
horses who was a 3 year old Thoroughbred straight off of the track. After a year or so of training, this gorgeous
young horse became an outstanding hunter and was sold. He has gone on to
win numerous ribbons at major horse shows. I took the photo on the left of
him after we won a tri-color in the
Pre-Green Hunter division at the former Bloomfield Open Hunt Horse Show.
Below is a photo of him with his new owner, Ashley Reis of Ohio.
